When unpacking a hoodie with a DTG (direct to grarment) print, you may notice a temporary vinegar-like smell or an off-white residue. Not to worry! This does not always happen, but it is not unusual. This is from the fixation agent applied during the printing process, and will disappear after the first wash.
This fixation agent, AKA pre-treatment, is used for all DTG prints across the industry. It helps the ink bond with the fabric. This is what makes it so that ink does not flake off the garment, and is a cross-industry measure for quality, fresh looking apparel that lasts!
